I have nothing but good things to say about IUM. The classes were challenging and interesting. I learned a lot of new mathematics. The professors were very interested in you learning the material, and hence were very helpful and willing to explain things more than once and in many different ways. In short, the program is wonderful, and if an opportunity presents itself, i would love to come back to IUM again.
As for things concerning everyday life in Moscow, then, overall, the experience was very enjoyable. Other than the unpleasant stories of my fellow students’ confrontations with skinheads, occasional rudeness of hotel staff, and a snowless February, my 4 months in Moscow turned out to be very entertaining and enriching. In fact, when the time comes, I will be quite sad to leave.

My name is Tanya and I’m Berkley student in the US. I come to Moscow since it is my hometown (I was born there). Before I’ve never studied from IUM although I knew some people from here. Now I feel that I had a wonderful experience of learning some maths in this very liberal intellectual place I want to thank all the professors who taught me and all the people who organized this program for us, students. I think that IUM is one of the best places to study math, get the insight into its various subjects and just spend time in the mathematical environment. Thanks again,
